We use email generated from a server at the Supreme website for officers. For more visibility and planning consideration, we will also use an online Calendar found at this link: 2058 Calendar. Feel free to send the Faithful Navigator a note for calendar events you think should be added. We will also develop an Assembly Newsletter. We will post them here on a subordinate page. If you would like to produce and edit the newsletter, please let us know. We have also initiated a Facebook page for better outreach to all Knights. The Facebook page is found by clicking this link. You are encouraged to contact the Faithful Navigator for any matter of concern.
It is important to aid our Brothers and their families in times of their need, especially when severe illness or death occurs. Please notify the faithful navigator when these situations arise. In addition to prayers, we can offer help for financial distress or skilled assistance in home environments. Let us know of any situation and we will help in a confidential manner to assist those in need. Contact the faithful navigator at his email or phone shown above in the officers section.
The Faithful Navigator announced that we are reinstituting the Welfare committee to address the needs of our Brother Sir Knights and their families who suffer from distress, illness or incapacitation. I would like to see visits to those who are homebound or in care centers, offering our support as needed. We still need a chairman for the committee – if you feel able and willing to serve as chairman, please let the Faithful Navigator know. The list of Sick and Distressed is maintained by our Faithful Scribe and it will forwarded to our members for their prayers and support each month.
All Sir Knights are eligible to serve as a member of the Color Corps. The Color Corps performs ceremonial duties concerning the American and State flags for many events in our community. The Color Corps members serve as flag bearers, carry swords, and post the flags in a respectful manner to add patriotic decorum to events and activities. The Color Corps is one of the most important activities of the 4th Degree also known as the Patriotic Degree. Contact the Color Corps Commander shown under the officers section for questions. You can learn about the techniques of being in the Color Corps at this link.

The SVVMIF is non-profit that is planning and executing its mission to improve and enhance the Veterans Memorial at the Sierra Vista Veterans Memorial Park.
Inception
At the “New Business” portion of the monthly meeting of the Knights of Columbus meeting of Assembly 2058 on September 21, 2015, a member of our assembly discussed concerns about the small Veterans Monument at the Sierra Vista Veterans Park, and he proposed that our Assembly take the lead in creating a much larger memorial to honor all veterans past and present. By unanimous vote our Assembly agreed to see this concept to fruition and approved the spending of Assembly money to start the project. Several of the Sir Knights (SK) began to contact representatives of the Military Veteran organizations in town to get consensus support for the city-wide new project the Knights were starting. The Assembly hosted a complimentary dinner for two representatives of each organization, and SKs Veterans briefed and promoted the project to fellow veterans from organizations around town. Fundraising has begun and is ongoing; for example, at the many events that are planned for Sierra Vista Veterans Park over the patriotic holidays, the Sierra Vista Veterans Memorial Improvement Foundation has and will host a booth for awareness and donations and raffles. Overall, the project is expected to raise and spend nearly $400,000 to provide the sort of recognition for veterans that will bring pride to everyone who visits Sierra Vista Memorial Park.
More information coming soon.
Knights and their families are encouraged to plan for anticipated as well as unanticipated end-of-life (EOL) events. There are spiritual needs as well as material needs that should be considered.
Several guides are available in the links below to address the spiritual aspect of one's life.
How to prepare for a death – a checklist | Written for 2024
VERITAS pamphlet from Knights of Columbus: Do No Harm: A Guide to Human Dignity and Morally Sound End-of-Life Care Father Christopher M. Saliga, O.P.
There are other forms which contain checklists for a material aid to our survivors in their times of stress, duress and despair during the immediate time of our passing.
2. Patriotic Degree Memorial Service and Chalice Distribution Form
3. Five Wishes
Please print both of these forms and fill them out. Keep the prearranged funeral form with your "final" papers at home and return the Patriotic Degree Memorial Service and Chalice Distribution Form to your assembly Faithful Navigator for safekeeping.
Sir Knights and their families are entitled to several actions upon the death of a Sir Knight:
1. Five Masses will be dedicated at the local parish by the Assembly for the repose the the soul of the Sir Knight.
2. A Letter of Condolence from the Faithful Navigator will be provided to the family next of kin.
3. A Resolution of Condolence certificate from the assembly will be printed and provided to the family next of kin.
4. A chalice will be engraved with the name of the Sir Knight and will be presented in accordance with the wishes of the Sir Knight expressed on the chalice distribution form, or in accordance with the wishes of the family next of kin. The chalice will not be kept be kept by the family, but will be presented to them only momentarily during a chalice ceremony at a funeral or memorial service. The chalice will then be donated to a Priest in need, whether local or in a foreign nation, so that the name of that Sir Knight will be elevated in the sacifice of the Holy Mass each day.
There are other considerations expressed in the guides above that pertain to property, assets and other material possessions that require some thought and diligence. These actions on the part of the Sir Knight will aid their loved ones at the time of his passing.
FINALLY, this website has a plethura of planning resources from the Knights of Columbus: https://kofc.planmygift.org/planning-toolkit. Share this link with your family. There are many pages in their menu to help with wills, estate planning, living trusts, and other things we want to ignore until it is too late. This was built for the Knights - take advantage!
The chalice program is used to memorialize and honor our Sir Knights who have passed on from the earthly life. Their name is engraved on a chalice and given to a Priest in need.
The Sir Knights should complete our form for designating where a chalice with their name engraved on it should be given.
Lacking this designation, we contact the family to determine where they think the donation would be best given. Some of our members choose to designate a local community, or some prefer a foreign nation where the need is often great and is greatly appreciated. Whatever your wishes, document them so that they may be carried out after you have passed away.
The Faithful Navigator monthly report is the presentation to the monthly membership meeting which provides activities and status of our assembly.
The monthly report includes information on membership recruiting, calendar events, and project actions undertaken by our assembly. You can read the reports by clicking on the link for the month in question.
