The Church teaches that parents have the primary role in the formation of their children. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2223). Parents are expected to be active participants in the instruction of their children, and to be involved in the life of the parish. This can be through volunteering as a classroom aide, or getting involved in the liturgy as a lector or Eucharistic Minister. We need active Catholics in our parish for it to be fully alive!
To be an aide or catechist, you need to love the Lord, be enthusiastic for the faith, be living a sacramental life, and be willing to share the witness of the Faith! All volunteers are fingerprinted and cleared through the diocesan process. To volunteer as a catechist or aide, call or email Genevieve Rivera, and then use this Diocesan link HERE, to begin the application process.
