First Communion: 2nd Grade
Tuesdays OR Wednesdays from 5:00 - 6:30 PM

Our First Communion program for 2nd (and some 3rd) graders is called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). CGS is a beautiful Montessori type program with hands-on materials through which the children learn core Bible stories, parables, and morals. They also interact with hands-on materials from the liturgy, the Mass, and the sacraments to understand deeply the beauty of the Mass and Holy Communion.*NOTE: If you have a 3rd grade child in need of First Communion preparation, they will likely be in this class.*
Requirements:- Regularly attend Sunday Mass and live a sacramental life
- Family must be registered in the Parish
- Register for Religious Education (provide birth and baptismal certificates)
- Attend class regularly, excluding sickness
- Attend the Sacrament Day Retreat in February
- Receive First Reconciliation (Confession) in the Spring
