Letter from Seminarian Ethan

Dear Parish Family,
Thank you very much for sending me birthday cards. I was very happy to hear from you all! Although I wish I could have been able to celebrate with you all, I was able to celebrate with my seminarian brothers, who threw a little party for me and another seminarian who had a birthday in July. It was great to be able to grow in community with them. Life as a seminarian has been very good. Over the summer, I took classes on the Bible and Christian spirituality, prayed with the monks, and went to Silver Falls and other places of natural beauty. The Fall Semester has started, which means that more seminarians, who are further along in their formation, have returned to the campus for classes; and there are now 98 students on campus (12 additional seminarians are on pastoral assignments). They are all good men, and I am excited to see what the year will bring.
Thank you for your prayers and support. They have helped me immensely. With your prayers, I have been blessed with a good seminary community and I have adjusted very well. I am praying for all of you, and I can’t wait to come back in December for the holidays!
