On Corpus Christi Sunday 2006, Bishop Kicanas dedicated our “new” church. It has already been twenty years and in some ways our church still seems new, especially as more and more new parishioners and new ministries find their spiritual home in the parish church! When our new Bishop Misko came for the first time – for Confirmation on the 19th of April – he remarked again and again on the beauty, the welcoming worship environment, and the ‘rightness’ of the architecture! (We certainly let our architect, Deacon Hank Kryzsik know about the Bishop’s remarks! And the Bishop was given one of the ‘Guidebooks’ which he says he has been reading!) But of course, we know that the church – the building – is simply “scaffolding for the Kingdom” in which the Church – the Community – is being constructed and built up each day! All of our Parish leadership and Ministry leaders are integral to that building up of the Parish Community , but the Lord established the Ordained Ministry – the servant leaders, whom God has placed among us. On Sunday, 7 June, newly Ordained Father Carlos Nagore, will celebrate his Mass of Thanksgiving here at 8:00 AM – thanking God for the gift of his Priesthood and thanking God for all of you, who have been such an important part of his Priestly formation! Immediately following the 8:00 AM Mass, will be our annual Corpus Christi Procession and Benediction in the Divine Mercy Chapel, with Father Carlos our Main Celebrant! Father Carlos will become our 8th “Priest/Son” of the Parish, joining Fathers Rob Neske, Bob Gonzalez, Richard Rivera, Anthony Corcoran, Michael Bucciarelli, Dale Branson, and Chris Orndorff in Priestly Ministry! ALSO on Sunday, 7 June, we will honor our newly Ordained brothers, Deacon Randi Buros and Deacon Bihn Le, whose Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate will be celebrated on 30 May at the Cathedral! Deacons Randi and Bihn Le will be joining our Deacons Lauro Teran, John Klein, and Bill Polakowski in their Ministry to us! We are looking forward to a wonderful Parish Celebration and want you to be part of the Masses, Procession, and the potluck beginning at 1:00 PM following the Noon Mass, in Kino Hall, sponsored by our Knights of Columbus! This will be our opportunity to celebrate the three up-coming Ordinations, the twentieth Anniversary of the Dedication of the church, and the vibrant life of our Parish Community – being ‘built up’ each day on Christ the Cornerstone – the ongoing miracle of Pentecost!
