Did You Know?

Our Deacon Lauro and Lupita have been part of the Tucson Diocesan Formation Team and Fr. Greg has been involved over the years in retreats for and continuing formation of the permanent Deacons in nine of our Western Dioceses and Archdioceses. In April Deacon Lauro, Lupita and Fr. Greg led the Common Formation Retreat for those in preparation for the Permanent Diaconate (including our own Bihn Ly and Randi Buros!) and those preparing for service as Lay Ecclesial Ministers in our Diocese! While the ministry of our Priests and Deacons is very ‘visible’ at Mass, most people would be amazed at the many, many ministries being supported or led by our wonderful Deacon John Klein, Deacon Bill Polakowski, and Deacon Lauro Terán! For the next two weekends, Deacon Lauro and Lupita will be joining Fr. Greg in directing retreats for the Deacons and Wives of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in Temecula and Solvang, California! Our involvement in these Retreats is an expression of our Parish’s support for the Permanent Diaconate – so vital in the life of our Parish and the Church! Please pray for the spiritual success of these Retreats and pray for Vocations to the Diaconate! A new Diaconate class is being formed and several of our parishioners are attending the information sessions – please pray for them! We have been looking for volunteers in several Ministries and are asking for you to consider becoming an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and bring Holy Communion to our homebound and hospitalized and those in assisted living. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the Parish Office or one of our Priests! (Diocesan Safe Environment clearance is required to serve in this Ministry and we will assist you in obtaining that clearance!) Congratulations – and THANKS – to all who participated in Friday’s wonderful “Patriotic Pipes Concert”! There is so much that goes on to prepare for and bring together such a Concert, and we are truly grateful to the Concert Committee and especially, John Hill, who have worked so hard to put together this wonderful Concert Series in our church and blessing our whole Community with the sound of music!
