Did You Know?

Dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the “Silver Rose” Program of the Knights of Columbus honors Our Lady of Lady of Guadalupe as the Protectress of the Unborn! Each year, eight of these beautiful “Silver Roses” are carried along different routes that include Canada, every U.S. state, Puerto Rico, and Mexico – and are presented, as an “international spiritual bouquet” at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, on her Feast Day – 12 December! The Knights of Columbus have provided this wonderful experience for over 70 years! We are privileged to welcome the “Silver Rose” this Tuesday evening, 27 May, at 6:30 PM with a Rosary! ALL are invited to share in this unique experience and add your prayers to the spiritual bouquet, asking Mary’s intercession for an end to violence against children, especially the Unborn! All parishioners are encouraged to attend this wonderful conclusion of the month of May, “Mary’s Month”.

On 22 June, our Father Michael Bucciarelli will mark the Golden Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood! Mark your calendar now for the 50th Anniversary Mass at 10:00 AM on Sunday, 22 June and the Ice Cream Social following! St. Andrew’s/Good Shepherd is very proud to have SEVEN Priest-Sons presently serving the Church: Fr. Michael Bucciarelli, Fr. Robert Gonzalez, Fr. Richard Rivera, Fr. Rob Neske, Fr. Dale Branson, Fr. Chris Orndorff, and Fr. Anthony Corcoran, S.J. Our Diocesan Seminarian Carlos Nagore will be Ordained to the Transitional Diaconate on 6 September and we will be counting Carlos among our ‘Priest-Sons’ when he is Ordained in June 2026!

Please pray for Vocations and continue to encourage young men to answer God’s Call to the Priesthood! It was pointed out that in last week’s DID YOU KNOW – calling for men to consider the Permanent Diaconate (and women to consider becoming Lay Ecclesial Ministers) – that we neglected to mention that two of our Parishioners, Binh Ly and Randi Buros are currently in the Formation Program and anticipating Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate in 2026!

This coming week Fr. Rob will be attending the Priests’ Convocation in Chandler, AZ, and Fr. Greg will be leading the annual Retreat for the Deacons of the Archdiocese of Denver! Thank you, Fr. Bob Gonzalez for providing pastoral care this week in the absence of the other Priests! We are so blessed to have Fr. Bob in residence! Please pray for our Priests!
